Moulded GRP-Gratings - closed
GRP gratings with a closed surface are gratings with a laminated GRP-Plate on top. For this purpose, the concave surface of the grating is grinded away and then the GRP plate is laminated on. The plate is usually 3 mm thick, but can be adjusted according to customer wishes and static requirements.
The plate on top of the grating can be executed with a gritted or a chequer plate surface. We recommend the gritted version, as this has better anti-slip properties than the chequer plate version.
The gratings with a closed surface type GRP-GES achieve serration class 13 and the gratings with tear plate look type GRP-TR achieve class R10.

The chemical resistance of the grating is determined by the resin used. The following resin versions are possible:

This fixing material prevents a slippage of the grating from the substructure even when the bolt is loosened and can be mounted from above. This fastening fits mesh spacing ranging from approx. 25 to 40 mm.

For an opening angle of approx. 90° the hinges will be screwed flush with the top of the gratings. If bigger opening angles are requested the hinge has to be screwed higher than the top surface of the grating. This will mean that the hinges will protrude. The hinges are not accessible for car loads.
